BIOGRAPHY: Birth name: Kevin Williamson Date of Birth: March 14th 1965 Place of Birth: New Bern, North Carolina, USA
In 1996 Kevin Williamson (with the help of Wes Craven) reinvented the horror genre with the hit movie "Scream", he followed that up with an adaptation of a novel called "I Know What You Did Last Summer" by Lois Duncan - this was also a sizable hit. In 1997 Kevin teamed up with Wes Craven again for "Scream 2", the second in a planned triolgy of "scary movies". He then turned his attention to television with a TV show lossley based on his own experiences while growing up - "Dawson's Creek" became a big hit in 1998. He teamed up with Robert Rodriguez in 1998 to make "The Faculty" - a sci-fi teen movie, with notable references to John Hughes(these can be found in many of Kevin works), this movie was like "Invasion of The Body Snatchers" meets "The Breakfast Club" and featured an exceptional cast of young actors as well as some more established ones. Kevin had always wanted to direct so in 1999 he released his directorial debut "Teaching Mrs Tingle" and movies that he also wrote, unfortunately "TMT" wasn't very well recieved in the US and because of this it was limited to video only in the UK. Due to lack of time he handed over writing duties on the final part of his "scary movie" trilogy to Ehren Kruger and "Scream 3" was released in 2000. His 2nd TV show "Wastland" wasn't the success he hoped and was axed after only one season because of that it has never been shown in the UK. He is currently working on many productions, the release dated for these projects is unknown at this point.
